It’s been a tremendous year for ILSR and for our work fighting corporate control and building local power across the economy. Our 2019 Annual Report outlines some of the progress we’ve made this year.

In addition to the many policy victories and accomplishments we’ve had, we’ve also quietly celebrated our 45th birthday! We send our sincere thanks to the individuals and foundations who have partnered with us over the decades and supported our efforts to build a sustainable economy that is equitable for all. We’re extremely proud of our committed staff who are working to create a better world each and every day.

ILSR is playing a critical leadership role in expanding public understanding of the threat of monopolies, building political support for checking corporate concentration, and advancing a vision of a reinvigorated federal antitrust and regulatory regime that can meet these challenges.

Of course, despite the need to address pressing federal issues, we continue to work on the ground in states and cities around the country. Our broadband, composting, energy democracy, independent business and waste-to-wealth initiatives are working in the trenches with advocates and local and state policymakers to build their own capacity and create environmentally sound, equitable and resilient communities.

This year we’ve ramped up our communications outreach. ILSR’s research and analysis have been in hundreds of media stories, shaped the thinking of community leaders along with state and federal lawmakers, and inspired and guided grassroots coalitions and campaigns.

Our resolve to decentralize economic power and reinvigorate democracy and local power is stronger than ever, but we need your help.  Please consider making a tax-deductible gift today to sustain our work and support the movement for healthy, equitable, and self-reliant communities. We look forward to the coming year as we grow our staff and deepen our impact.
