Is Amazon a Monopoly? Documentary Newly Released in the U.S.

In 2022, amid growing scrutiny across Europe of the outsized power of Amazon and other monopolies, Germany’s national public television network broadcast a compelling documentary about how Amazon maintains its dominance. The film — which features interviews with ILSR’s Stacy Mitchell, European Commissioner for Competition Margrethe Vestager, and others —  drew a prime-time audience of more than 3 million viewers.

The English-language version of this documentary is now available, offering a fresh look at the risks of letting Amazon’s business model expand across the globe unchecked and how EU and German authorities are responding.
