The Institute for Local Self-Reliance and The Sustainable Economies Law Center (The Law Center) are excited to announce the Community Compost Law & Policy Project.
This project will provide critical legal and policy support to community composters, who often face daunting regulatory, zoning, and permitting barriers. Community composters are a vital piece of the distributed infrastructure.
For years, the Institute for Local Self-Reliance has cultivated the vibrant network of community composters and provided resources to strengthen the movement. This includes our webinar series, podcasts, new hierarchy, y in-person forums.
If you’re a community composter who wants access to our policy and legal resources, such as training webinars and pro-bono lawyers, please join the Community Composter Coalition and Google group. Not sure if you’re a community composter? Check out Aumentar la fertilidad local: guía para el compostaje comunitario (pg. 7, 24-27) for principles and types of community composting.
