ILSR, a member of the Rural Internet and Broadband Policy Group, submitted comments to the Federal Communications Commission  on the matter of a national broadband policy.  Our comments highlight the importance of long term investments that will prioritize local ownership and control as well as open access networks.

After years of telecommunications deregulation, we have an opportunity to ensure everyone gains from the communications innovations.

The FCC was directed to develop a national broadband plan by February 2010; these comments came in response to an FCC Notice of Inquiry inviting public comments to shape the plan.
