Town in Michigan Launches Community-Owned Broadband Service

This small town in southern Michigan is steeped in interesting history, including an 1843 incident in which the community rallied around escaped slaves leading to the Fugitive Slave Law. Michigan Cooperative Begins High-Speed Internet Project

Great Lakes Energy (GLE), Michigan’s largest electric cooperative and third largest energy utility, is constructing a Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) network to bring gigabit connectivity to its 125,000 members. Michigan Law Seeks to Bolster Recycling by Making the Landfill More Expensive

The Mining Journal reports that Michigan Governor Rick Snyder has proposed an increase in landfill tipping fees as a way to spur more recycling in the state.
