On WNYC’s On the Media, Stacy Mitchell Talks Antitrust’s Past and Future

Date: 21 Nov 2018 | posted in: Retail | 0 Facebooktwitterredditmail

ILSR’s Stacy Mitchell appeared as a guest on the WNYC radio program On The Media for a segment entitled “Making America Antitrust Again.” Stacy talked with host Brooke Gladstone about our country’s history of breaking up big corporations, the rise of Amazon, and where our growing anti-monopoly movement is headed.

Stacy points out the relative weakness of consumer-based resistance, like boycotting Amazon, when compared to sustained and empowered government antitrust enforcement. To ‘make America antitrust again,’ we need to stop thinking of ourselves as consumers, and start thinking of ourselves as citizens, says Stacy.
