- No Styrofoam Campaign: An intern is needed to research communities restricting the use of polystyrene (aka styrofoam) for foodservice ware, identify model venues going styrofoam-free, document health issues posed by polystyrene use, and create/populate a new web site on Stop Polystyrene Waste (tentative title). The intern will also provide research and campaign assistance to the Young Activist Club, a youth based group that ILSR co-leads at the Piney Branch Elementary School in Takoma Park, Maryland. The club is working to eliminate the use of polystyrene for school lunch trays and for food service ware in the larger community (www.youngactivistclub.org).
