In May, Germany’s national public television network, ARD, broadcast a new documentary, “Is Amazon a Monopoly?” which featured an interview with Stacy Mitchell. The documentary drew a prime-time audience of more than 3 million viewers.

You can watch the documentary below or on YouTube, but it’s only available in German.

The documentary comes amid growing scrutiny in Germany and across Europe of the outsized power of Amazon and other monopolies. The tech giant captures 55 percent of online sales in Germany.

An antimonopoly movement is growing across Europe, led by groups such as The Balanced Economy Project and Lobby Control. In May, Stacy spoke at a conference in Berlin, on “Rebalancing Power: From Monopolies to Democratic Economies.” The conference, which also included talks by Barry Lynn and Zephyr Teachout, was attended by civil society groups and European policy and regulatory officials.

To meet the growing interest, ILSR’s latest report on Amazon has been translated into German.
