Retira las velas, la cera y cualquier decoraci\u00f3n. No compostes calabazas con pintura o brillantina. Ayuda si aplastas o cortas la calabaza en varios pedazos (en lugar de una calabaza entera), pero no es necesario.<\/b><!--more--><\/p>\r\n<p>Si no quieres que crezcan plantas de calabaza voluntarias en tu composta, entonces saca todas las semillas O aseg\u00farate de que tu pila de composta alcance los 150 grados durante tres d\u00edas. La mayor\u00eda de la gente no est\u00e1 haciendo composta caliente en su patio trasero, pero es f\u00e1cil de hacer si prestas atenci\u00f3n a estas cuatro cosas:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Mezcla 3 cubos de materiales \u201cmarrones\u201d (como hojas) por cada 1 cubo de materiales \u201cverdes\u201d (como restos de comida, recortes de c\u00e9sped, posos de caf\u00e9). A pesar de ser anaranjadas, las calabazas son ricas en nitr\u00f3geno y se consideran \u201cverdes\u201d al compostar.<\/li>\r\n<li>Humedad adecuada. Si tomas un mont\u00f3n de material mezclado para compostar y lo aprietas con la mano (con la palma hacia arriba), deber\u00eda haber algo de humedad entre los nudillos, pero sin que gotee por tu brazo.<\/li>\r\n<li>Masa o volumen adecuados (al menos 0.91 m x 0.91 m x 0.91 m de material en tu pila).<\/li>\r\n<li>Ox\u00edgeno adecuado. Voltee\/mezcle la pila cada semana y aseg\u00farese de que tenga buena porosidad para que el aire pueda fluir a trav\u00e9s de ella.<b><br \/>\r\n<\/b><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><b>Para aquellos con patios traseros pero sin compostaje activo real, a\u00fan puedes desviar tus calabazas del vertedero o incinerador encontrando un lugar, aplastando la calabaza y cubri\u00e9ndola con
