The Greys Paper Company, Edmonton, Canada will build the first two small-scale high grade recycled paper mills in the US in Texas and Kansas. ILSR recommended this company to ILSR’s long time working partners the MId America Regional Council of Governments (MARC), Kansas City and the Department of Resource Recovery, Austin, TX. Both agencies followed through with visits to the company’s operating 40-ton per day pant in Edmonton.<\/p>\n

Each plant uses 36 tons per day of recycled high grade paper and 4 tons of white recycled cotton. An estimated 120 jobs will be created in each plant in manufacturing and distribution. Workers will earn a living wage and health benefits.<\/p>\n

In the near future the company will also offer variously scaled plants to accommodate smaller cities and counties that want to be self-reliant in the production of stationery, copy paper and envelopes for businesses, government and individual consumers. The company will also develop small scale mills for the production of other paper grades based on plant matter not wood pulp.<\/p>\n

Greys anticipates breaking ground on four more plants in the US by the end of 2015.<\/p>\n
