Publicado coincidiendo con el D\u00eda Mundial del Medio Ambiente de las Naciones Unidas, el 5 de junio de 2008, este informe documenta la relaci\u00f3n entre el cambio clim\u00e1tico y los patrones insostenibles de consumo y desperdicio. El estudio desmiente los mitos sobre los beneficios clim\u00e1ticos de la recuperaci\u00f3n de gases de vertederos y la incineraci\u00f3n de residuos, describe las pol\u00edticas necesarias para lograr el cambio y ofrece una hoja de ruta para reducir significativamente las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero en un breve periodo de tiempo. Elaborado conjuntamente por el ILSR, la Alianza Global contra la Incineraci\u00f3n (GAIA) y Eco-Cycle, Stop Trashing the Climate concluye que la reducci\u00f3n de los residuos depositados en vertederos e incineradoras puede tener beneficios clim\u00e1ticos equivalentes a la eliminaci\u00f3n de 211 TP3T de las centrales el\u00e9ctricas de carb\u00f3n de Estados Unidos.<\/p>\r\n
