The Reuse People (TRP), a private enterprise headquartered in Oakland, CA, launching an expansion of its building deconstruction training program. TRP’s deconstruction training program provides students with a market advantage. Graduates of the program leave with a comprehensive understanding of deconstruction, including how to use hand and power tools, disassemble buildings, work in a team, and be safe on the job.

The program, which is designed for people with little to no background in deconstruction, takes 14 days to complete with only four of those spent in a classroom; the rest is on-site training. Experienced contractors will not be left out; TRP is also offering contractor training. As TRP president Ted Reiff explains, this advanced course will be about “how to identify salvageable materials and preserve their value during the removal process.” TRP is approaching its 18th year as a leader in the field of building deconstruction and reuse of valuable building materials.
