ILSR & ECO City Farms‘ Neighborhood Soil Rebuilders Composter Training Program is partnering with the DC Department of Parks and Recreation, DC Department of Public Works, and other DC Food Recovery-focused organizations, agencies and individuals for a Week of Action, May 14th-20th. ILSR’s Brenda Platt and Linda Bilsens are kicking of the Week of Action with a Vermicomposting Workshop, hosted at Elsie Whitlow Stokes Community Freedom Public Charter School on Saturday, May 14th, from 10am-1pm.
Vermicomposting (composting done by worms) is a great way to start composting at home or in your community — the worms do most of the work! This workshop will cover benefits of vermicompost, and tips and tricks for proper worm-husbandry. Participants will learn to build simple worm-bins that they can use at home.
